In this rendition of the winged celestial beings mentioned in the story of the Garden of Eden, the Cherubim are illustrated in swatches of Blue, which according to the Kabbalah represents the celestial mysteries of the Creator. In the painting the Cherubs are stationed at the entrance of the garden to guard the way to the tree of life. The Tree of life is depicted in shades of Gold, to signify the valuable importance of the Tree in sustaining life for all of Gods creations.
