“The Khoshen [The breastplate] was set with four rows of precious stones:
The first row: carnelian, emerald, topaz.
The second row: carbuncle, sapphire, beryl.
The third row: jacinth, agate, amethyst.
The fourth row: chyrsolite, onyx, jasper.
he stones contained the names of Israel's sons. There were twelve names, engraved as on a signet ring, one for each of the twelve tribes.”
